About CAT - 2021

Common Admission Test or CAT 2021 notification will be announced in July and the exam will be conducted on the last Sunday of November or first Sunday of December 2021. The CAT exam is a gateway to India’s top MBA institutes, the IIMs and over 1200 other business schools. The exam is conducted by one of the IIMs on rotational basis for IIMCAT. CAT 2019 was conducted by IIM Kozhikode on November 24, 2019 and the CAT result was announced on January 4, 2021. The CAT convening institute for 2021 exam will be announced in the month of May. CAT 2021 exam registration will begin in August and close by the end of September. About 2.4 lakh candidates register for CAT exam every year.

CAT Eligibility Criteria 2021

According to the official eligibility criteria of CAT 2021, applicants should fulfil the parameters as stated below -

Candidates should obtain a Bachelor’s Degree across disciplines from a recognised University or Institute
General and OBC-NC category candidates must secure at least 50 per cent marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA. For reserved category candidates, the minimum percentage to obtain is 45.
The duration of the graduation programme in any discipline should be minimum three (3) years.
Final year graduation students are also eligible to apply for CAT 2021 provided they complete their undergraduate studies within the stipulated schedule.
Age Limit - There is no age limit for applying or appearing in CAT 2021 exam.

CAT Reservation Criteria

A certain percentage of seats in IIMs are reserved for SC, ST, OBC and PWD candidates. The table given below provides an overview of the same:
